For those of you who have been following my various social media platforms you will have seen a lot going on about ‘The Tin Shack Tasting Room‘, Craft beer, and local wine, including the most incredibly successful launch event at the Plett Wine & Bubbly Festival.
Well finally we are just two weeks away from the official opening of our new venue at the Heath Complex called “The Tin Shack Tasting room”! Now as you probably know we are not gifted with loads of buildings and open space to just erect a new structure, so we have converted half of what was the old craft shop into this fantastic new space. Its been a slow process but an exciting, one with a whole lot of stress thrown in but ultimately we have made it, and its time we make this happen!
So what can you expect? Well as the name may suggest its all about the experience of Taste, and hopefully of something you don’t get to to taste every day! Our primary focus areas will be of 3 different elements relating to beverage, namely Craft Beer, Local Plettenberg Bay wine, and our Locally roasted artisan coffee from ‘Beans about Coffee’, and only two when it comes to food, namely Cheese & Charcuterie…
The concept stems from many years in the industry where I have focused most of my energy into studying and learning as much as possible when it comes to beverages and wine, and now recently having discovered my passion for craft brew, and insanely good coffee. The culture, the concept, the nature of its artisan flair…
What will we have on offer? well you can find up to 20 different Craft beers by the bottle, 2 on tap, and all 8 Local wine farms with their full range on offer. You will be able to taste various examples and either sit and enjoy it on site or buy to take with you. We will also be distributing and selling our supported brands by the case at a reduced rate should you really fall in love with one! Check my previous blog post for a list of Craft beers… This has since been improved though! In terms of Coffee we have a second coffee machine in this space serving up our favourite blend of 100% Arabica beans from Central and Southern America in the form of the ‘sidewalk blend’ from our crew at ‘Beans about Coffee’ in George.
The vibe is all upcycled shabby chic with pallette furniture and distressed tables, the music with be all about good vibes, and hopefully the people all about experience, pleasure, and appreciation for all that is awesome!
The venue opens 1st of November with the opening hours being from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Sunday, and in season we are sure to stay open late, with a good old weekly Sunday sesh booked in with live bands and dinner served until 9pm.
This is set to be an awesome summer people, so get involved!!
